Volunteers needed

LIFT is a community led project to support elderly parishioners who fall but do not require an ambulance. Volunteers using a locally stored inflatable chair will attend upon request and assist the faller. 7 Hubs to store chairs have been identified in West Norfolk and the nearest one is East Rudham. Project Update West Norfolk Carers (now based at Queen Elizabeth Hospital Kings Lynn) have agreed to be the ‘umbrella charity’ providing a trustee, governance processes and supporting grant applications through their charity registration. The project team is finalising a budget to cover training, volunteer expenses, chairs and communications. We are investigating the best mechanism to enable a faller to call for help centrally and through a facilitator contact a local volunteer. We are looking for volunteers within the Harpley community. More details available from East Rudham Councillor Mark Tizard on tizards@btinternet.com
